General info

The Institute for treatment and rehabilitation “Niška Banja“ consists of the Clinic for Cardiology, the Clinic for Rheumatology, the Clinic for Rehabilitation, department for Orthopedic Surgery and the department for law and economy.

For inpatinet and oupatient care the departments employ 366 people in total (186 medical and 180 non-medical).

The medical employee structure has 69 employees with a bachelor’s or higher degree: 55 medical and 14 non-medical. Of the total number of employees 13 of them are with PhD degree, they are teachers at the Medical Faculty, University of Niš (Professors, Assoc.Prof., and Ass. Prof), 47 are medical specialists (internists, orthopaedists, physicians, physiatrists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, and radiologists) of which eight are Master of Medicine, seven primarius, eight currently on medical specialization and a medical assosiate – defectologist.

The non-medical employee structure has four economists, two lumbs of the law, three electrical engineers, and one machine engineer.

Equipment

Instuite Niska Banja boasts the most modern biochemical laboratory where all hematological and biochemical analyzes are performed. The state-of-the-art equipment enables the treatment of patients by all the highest global criteria.

We have the most modern cardiac and rheumatic diagnostic equipment: 5 echocardiograms, a monitoring system in Intensive Care Unit, 2 bone densitometers, an MRI, 2 digital X-rays,  equipment for orthopedic surgical hall and a set of devices for physical therapy.

From 2006 all the institute’s clinic and financial activities have been done through Medical Information System – MIS, which is even today one of the most modern and complete information system used in the country. MIS consists of more than 150 computer stations, 2 servers and a LAN that connects all 6 hospitals owned by the institute. The system is online 24 hours a day 365 days a year and has a large database contains digital medical charts of all the patient and the records of all their visits, examinations, X-ray and MRI records(over 263.780 patients with their digital anamneses and over 983.000 medical reports). In 2010 a new PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) was installed that stores pictures very efficiently. The stored pictures can be easily accessed by a couple of methods. Electronic images and reports are transferred digitally across the PACS and can be accessed from a patient’s anamnesis within MIS on all workstations of the Institue. From the implementation of the integrated health information system – IHIS our medical information system has been completely integrated into IHIS. All medical records, findings and reports are generated and stored digitally.

Equipment, maintenance and use of the equipment is in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard implemented in 2018.
