Organization and equipment

The Institute for treatment and rehabilitation “Niška Banja“ consists of the Clinic for Cardiology, the Clinic for Rheumatology, the Clinic for Rehabilitation, department for Orthopedic Surgery and the department for law and economy.
Total of 397 employees (221 from the field of medicine and 176 of other occupations) work at stationarys, the first aid stations, polyclinics as well as cabinets). 75 workers are highly educated: 59 graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, and 16 graduated from other Faculties, from the University. Out of the total number of medical stuff, 10 of them are with PhD degree, they are teachers at the Medical Faculty, University of Niš (Professors, Assoc.Prof., and Ass. Prof.), there are 50 physicians, specialists in internal medicine, in orthopedic surgery and in physical medicine and rehabilitation), out of them 5 are M.A., and 10 are Primaries, 12 are general practitioners and they are on specialization and one is speech pathologist. Other professions, there are four economists, four are lumbs of the law, one is a teacher of English language and literature, one is sociologist, two are electronic engineers and one is mechanical engineering graduate.

Equipment

 There is the most contemporary biochemical laboratory, as a part of the Institute, where all hematology and biochemical analysis are performed.The most contemporary equipment enables the treatment of patients according to all highest world criterion.

     
     

There is the most contemporary equipment for treatment and diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases, rheumatic diseases: three apparatuses for echocardiography, monitoring system for the follow up of patients in the coronary care unit, two densitometers, digital  Ro and the equipment for the orthopedic surgery amphitheater and a number of various apparatuses for the physical therapy.

     

The Institute is one of rare health institutions that has developed Medical Information System with digital  medical history for about 88.800 hospitalized patients and 78.650 out-patient department patients.  MIS has been in use for three years and for that period of time about 104.000 medical reports have been electronically worked out. Medical Information System record all events concerning the patient from his admission to the discharge from the Institute. Log books are replaced by electronic data basis, and all medical reports are generated from MIS, with the possibility of recording the chronology of treatment.

     

According to data about medical treatment, medications and other necessary material imported into  MIS, automatic generation of the electronic invoice is performed. Perfect functioning of  MIS is provided in all six buildings of the Institute, thanks to the contemporary communication equipment .There are more than 100 PC's in the System.

Record keeping, equipment up keeping and handling with the equipment are according to the ISO 9000 Standard, introduced at the Institute a year ago.
